What is Log Book Servicing?
The term ‘log book service’ is given to a series of scheduled services, inspections and repairs that are carried out at specific intervals set by your vehicle manufacturer.
Depending on what vehicle you have, and what specific mileage it’s at, the contents of your log book service may slightly differ, but generally, a log book service is a mix of:
- Fluid changes for select items, such as engine oil or brake fluid
- Brake inspections, including rotors, pads and other wear items
- Tyre and suspension inspections
- General safety checks and written condition reports
How Often Do I Need a Log Book Service?
Each vehicle manufacturer tends to recommend slightly different schedules, but most of them seem to have services scheduled every 6 months, or 10,000kms, whichever comes first.
You can check your vehicle log book to see when your next service is due, but if you’re unsure you can always talk to the friendly team at Tyre and Auto Servicing or bring your vehicle in to see us.
